GM EDI Certification for LPN, MGO and CCA

Before Getting Started

  • Certification Timeline Overview: GM allocates a total of 5 weeks for the full certification process. This timeline includes roughly one week for pursuit and EDI information gathering, three weeks dedicated to integration testing, and an additional week for production cutover.

Certification Process

  • Download and Complete the GM Supplier EDI Information Form.
  • Initiate the Request for Certification Testing with Covisint. Submit an EDI Certification Request ticket by email to the Covisint EDI Certification Team and include the GM Supplier EDI Information form as an attachment. After your request is submitted, a certification agent will reach out with further instructions.
  • Conduct Pursuit and EDI Information Gathering. You will have one week to respond to / engage with the assigned certification agent and provide additional information as needed.
  • Conduct Pursuit and EDI Information Gathering. You will have one week to respond to / engage with the assigned certification agent and provide additional information as needed.
    • Follow all certification testing steps as directed by your certification agent.
    • Send all test data to the appropriate GM BU/Division/System testing COMM Code listed in the table below.
    • Suppliers certifying against the LPN BU will receive an attestation document from the certification agent confirming successful testing, which must be signed and returned before the production cutover can be scheduled.
  • Cutover to Production. After completing certification testing, you will have one week to perform the production cutover. To ensure proper data exchange with the applicable GM production system.
    • Trading Partner Setup: You or your vendor must establish trading partner relationships between your three‑character COMM Code and the appropriate GM BU/Division/System production COMM Code(s) listed in the table below.
    • Data Transmission: Send all production data to the corresponding GM BU/Division/System production COMM Code(s) as outlined in the table below.
